The 26th annual Letter Carriers’ Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is scheduled for this Saturday, May 12th. People are encouraged to put non-perishable foods next to their mailboxes (before their carrier arrives Saturday morning). In addition to picking up and delivering mail that day, the postal carriers will pick up the food donations….which will be given to local food banks. Stamp Out Hunger, which is held on the 2nd Saturday in may each year, is the country’s largest single-day food drive, and is held in 10 thousand cities and towns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.
