Salinas police have arrested a suspect in connection with a Saturday knife attack. Shortly before 10 a-m on Saturday a 59 year old man was stabbed multiple times on the 400 block of Lincoln Avenue. Police identified 27-year-old Mark Sandoval, a known transient as the assailant. Sandoval was taken into custody following a manhunt. At the time of his arrest he was in possession of a stolen loaded handgun. He was booked into Monterey County Jail on numerous charges related to the attempted murder and firearm possession.
