AN APPEALS COURT HAS SPLIT A DECISION….PARTLY FAVORING THE CITY OF SCOTTS VALLEY, AND PARTLY AGREEING WITH THE COUNTY OF SANTA CRUZ. THE STATE APPELLATE COURT RULED THAT THE COUNTY OF SANTA CRUZ SHOULD PAY BACK SOME PROPERTY TAX MONEY TO THE CITY OF SCOTTS VALLEY….BUT NOT AS MUCH AS SCOTTS VALLEY THOUGHT IT SHOULD RECEIVE. THAT’S BECAUSE THE 3-MEMBER PANEL OF THE APPELLATE COURT SAID THAT REDEVELOPMENT AGENCY FUNDS SHOULD NOT BE FACTORED INTO THE EQUATION.
