The speed limit will reduced on a portion of highway-101, beginning wed. The 10-mile stretch between boronda road in salinas and just past echo valley road in Prunedale will have a posted speed limit of 55 miles per hour. The reduced limit is set to be effective while the prunedale improvement project is underway. That construction project is set to last until at least the end of 2014.
