A trial date was set today for 2 Santa Cruz County residents accused of killing a Los Angeles man during a botched drug deal over a year ago. 40-year old Kenneth Clamp, and 30-year old Adam Hunt face murder, kidnapping and robbery charges for the death of Elias Sorokin. Both Clamp and Hunt were arraigned today following a preliminary hearing last month. A trial readiness conference is set for January 26th prior to the tentative trial set for Februay 1st. The pair allegedly beat Sorokin unconscious on July 20th 2009 after stealing marijuana from him during a drug deal in a Felix Street garage, and then dumped him off a cliff on the North of Santa Cruz. Sorokin’s remains have not been found.
