A RATIONING PLAN IS EXPECTED TO BE CONSIDERED AFTER SOQUEL CREEK WATER DISTRICT OFFICIALS RETURN FROM WINTER BREAK NEXT YEAR. THE DISTRICT’S BOARD WILL MEET ON JANUARY 7TH AND REVISIT IT’S POLICY OF ENACTING 35% MANDATORY RATIONING FOR CUSTOMERS TO REST OVERTAXED AQUIFERS THAT ARE SUSCEPTIBLE TO SALTWATER INTRUSION. THE PLAN WAS PREVIOUSLY APPROVED TO ENACT MANDATORY CUTBACKS IN THE ABSENCE OF A NEW SUPPLY SOURCE, HOWEVER OFFICIALS SAY THEY NEED TO FURTHER EXAMINE THE COSTS AND FEASIBILITY OF THE PLAN, INCLUDING WHETHER TO PHASE IN THE RATIONING.
