Cal-fire firefighters extinguished a vehicle fire yesterday in santa cruz county. The just-before 5:30 a.m. broke out in the back of a u-haul truck, on the 26-hundred block of south rodeo gulch road, in soquel. 2-people were found with injuries, including burns and bruises. 1-victim refused medical treatment, while the other, a 53-year-old woman, was treated at the scene for 2nd-degree burns, then air-lifted to a regional burn center. A firefighter was also injured while putting out the fire. He suffered a strained neck, after bumping his head. The flames were contained to the u-haul, which was destroyed. The cause is under investigation.
