Some Monterey K-6 Schools Can Reopen 02-16-21 18:11 DC

Thanks to a recent decline in COVID-19 cases in Monterey County, the county office of education has announced that some schools can reopen after approval.

On Tuesday it was announced that the county had an “adjusted case rate” below 25 per 100,000 residents. This milestone means that K-6 grade schools can re-open for in-person classes.

To reopen, schools must first post a “Covid Safety Plan” (CSP) on their website and submit that plan to the local health department and State Safe Schools for All Team for review. After it is approved, schools can reopen the next day.
