Soledad police reject cuts 07/11/11 7:40p.m. TDH

75-percent of the soledad police force has given notice to city leaders—that they plan to seek jobs elsewhere, if they are forced to take another pay cut.  12 of the department’s 16 officers signed off on the letter to soledad city council and city manager.   The officers are rejecting city leaders’ request for police to take a 15-percent pay cut.  That’s on top of a 10-reduction that was agreed to within the last 18-months.  The combined 25-percent cut is too much, say the officers, and are urging city leaders to abandon the plan.
