a new solar power station in salinas is set to go online friday. the system is expected to generate 192-thousand kilowatt hours per year, (that’s about half the power used at the complex owned by monterey county). the unveiling ceremony is scheduled for 2 p.m. friday, at the laurel yard complex on east laurel drive. the solar power system was funded by the American recovery and reinvestment act, known as the “federal stimulus.”
