In State news-Legislation that would require warning labels on sugary beverages passed out of the Senate Committee on Health on a 5-1 vote. SB 347 would require beverages with added sweeteners that are 75 calories or more per 12 ounces to have a warning label stating that drinking the beverage may contribute to obesity, type 2 diabetes, and tooth decay. SB 347 now heads to the Senate Committee on Appropriations for its next hearing.
