(17:15)SANTA CRUZ- Janus of Santa Cruz Sobering Center has served 1000 intoxicated persons. The facility was designed with a goal of keeping chronic drunk in public offenders out of jail and off the streets. The center frees up police resources and jail space. The Janus Sobering Center is a 10-bed facility with separate spaces for men and women. The center is open 24 hours, 7 days per week and staffed with trained counselors and medical professionals. The Janus Sobering Center is located at 265 Water Street, across from the courthouse in Santa Cruz.
