The Soberanes Canyon Trail that has been closed since the start of the Soberanes Fire in July of 2016 will be partially open to hikers again this weekend starting April 14th. The trail will be open from the main gated trailhead across from gate eight of the Garrapata costal trail allowing hikers to proceed to the back of the canyon. The access to the trail will only accommodate out and back hikes since, the rocky ridge portion of the trail is still closed due to poor conditions. The Soberanes fire ignited from an illegal, unattended campfire took almost three months to contain after burning one-thousand 127 acres. Destroying 57 homes and 11 buildings
