FORMER CARMEL MAYOR, AND WELL KNOWN ACTOR-DIRECTOR CLINT EASTWOOD WAS HONORED BY THE SMITHSONIAN YESTERDAY FOR HIS 6 DECADES OF WORK IN AMERICAN FILM. EASTWOOD WAS ASKED TO CUT THE RIBBON FOR A NEW MOVIE THEATER, THAT IS SAID TO HIGHLIGHT THE NATION’S MOVIE LEGACY. THE THEATER IS LOCATED IN THE NATIONAL MUSEUM OF AMERICAN HISTORY.
EASTWOOD WAS AWARDED THE JAMES SMITHSON BICENTENNIAL MEDAL FOR HIS DISTINGUISHED CONTRIBUTIONS IN FILM.
