A small group of protesters demonstrated on saturday outside the home of a pg and e executive. About 8 people showed up to protest smart meters, at the carmel residence of chairman of the board lee cox. Cox reportedly heard from, (and spoke to), protesters for roughly an hour. Demonstrators are unhappy about being forced to have the new, wireless meters installed. Pg and e is working on an opt-out plan, that would likely charge a 90-dollar fee, (plus 15-dollars monthly), to retain an analog meter. Low-income customers would have fees reduced or waived. The plan is set to be decided on in january.
