Firefighting crews have stopped a small vegetation fire in the Carmel Highlands.
At around 7 a.m. (Thursday), firefighters responded to the blaze located near Fern Canyon Road and Cypress Way.
Firefighters say the fire was contained at less than an acre. It apparently began after a dead tree fell across the roadway and onto power lines.
