With the nationwide closure of schools, renovations of the pool for San Lorenzo Valley High School are taking place.
The $1.5 million project is anticipated to be completed by early next year.
This pool is used by SLV High School and middle school for physical education classes, as well as hosting the Cougar Swim School.
Should SLV water polo teams return in December, they will practice at Santa Cruz High and play matches at Cabrillo College while renovations take place.
The original pool was installed in fall of 1999, is 25-by-25 feet, and was having issues such as chipped tiles and eroding plaster.
