An empty house in Salinas will have to be demolished following a Saturday fire. Fire officials say that they received reports of the fire on the 1100 block of Pacific Avenue at about 4:30 p.m. On scene fire fighters extinguished the blaze at the dwelling which had been boarded shut due to a previous fire in about 10 minutes; however the building was damaged beyond repair. Investigators found cooking utensils and food near the back of the structure and determined that to be the cause of the blaze.
