A traffic stop in Salinas led to the arrests of two gang members on Saturday. At about 3:20 p.m. officers from the Violence Suppression Unit stopped a car for vehicle code violations. The occupants were recognized as known gang members, and 27-year-old Joshua Nunez was taken into custody for an $80,000 felony warrant. 21-year-old Robert Gabriel was arrested after officers found a loaded handgun in his pocket. Both men were booked into Monterey County Jail.
