Skimmers were found yesterday at several Bank Of America A-T-Ms in Santa Cruz county. One was connected to an A-T-M in Felton, another was in Aptos, and a 3rd was in Watsonville. Skimming is a method used by thieves to gather information from a cardholder. The devices found yesterday were believed to have been installed yesterday. People are encouraged to always look at any point-of-sale terminal before using it. If anything looks loose, crooked, scratched or damaged….or just unusual, don’t use that card reader….but do report it.
