a santa cruz woman was arrested tuesday night on suspicion of assaulting another woman. capitola police responded to reports of a fight at jade street park around 9 p.m. theresa mary lawson was arrested for assault, after police learned she allegedly hit another woman over the head with a cast-iron skillet. while being processed into santa cruz county jail, an officer discovered concealed narcotics on lawson, she was charged with assault and bringing drugs into a jail.
the victim is recovering at an area hospital and is expected to recover.
