A SOQUEL MAN IS IN JAIL AFTER HE ATTACKED A MAN IN SANTA CRUZ WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THE INCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON THE 9-HUNDRED BLOCK OF PACIFIC AVENUE AT AROUND 7 P-M WHEN 31 YEAR OLD JAMES DANIEL JOHNSTON HIT A MAN USING AN A-T-M IN THE HEAD WITH A SKATEBOARD; THE VICTIM FELL TO THE GROUND. JOHNSTON LOOKED UNSUCCESSFULLY FOR MONEY THEN FLED TO THE METRO CENTER WHERE HE MENACED A SECURITY GUARD WITH THE SKATEBOARD AND A KNIFE. POLICE ARRIVED AND HE WAS ARRESTED AND BOOKED INTO SANTA CRUZ COUNTY JAIL FOR ASSAULT WITH A DEADLY WEAPON AND ATTEMPTED ROBBERY
