Turns out a 57-year-old San Jose woman was the first person in the u-s to die of corona virus.
According to Dr. Sara Cody, Santa Clara County health officer, Patricia Dowd passed away February 6TH from Covid 19 from what appeared then to be… flu like symptoms. At this time… it doesn’t appear she had any underlying health conditions.
The February death indicates the deadly virus was circulating on the west coast much earlier than previously thought. As of yesterday… there are 1,987 confirmed cases of corona virus in Santa Clara county.
