State Senator Joe Simitian, whose district includes portions of Santa Cruz County, announced on Sunday that he will run for a seat on the Santa Clara Board of Supervisors. Term limits will prevent Simitian from seeking another state senate term next year. He previously served on the santa clara Board of Supervisors from 1997 to 2000.
