Asserting these don't have to happen as they are avoidable through changes in lifestyle and diet. Contending that one change would be through nutritional supplementation.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a new article regarding false research. The Editor in Chief of the journal Lancet Dr. Richard Horton recently made the public statement "Much of the scientific literature, perhaps half, may simply be untrue. Afflicted by studies with small sample sizes, tiny effects, invalid exploratory analysis, and flagrant conflicts of interest, together with an obsession for pursuing fashionable trends of dubious importance, science has taken a turn towards darkness." The Editor in Chief of New England Medical Journal Dr.Marcia Angell also made a similar statement.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing Parkinson's disease. Stating that this is due to nutritional deficiencies. Contending that these types of diseases can be prevented and even reversed. Because they are due to the fact that there are no longer any nutrients in the foods people eat.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article about to overuse of antibiotics. In the U.S. some experts believe that 30 to 50 percent of antibiotic use is unnecessary. One health expert estimates that number is more like 75%. The article also states that studies have proven that shorter courses of antibiotics are just as effective as longer ones.

Outlining that 98% birth defects are due to nutritional deficiencies in the mother either during conception or gestation.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning influenza vaccines. It seems that Australia and the U.S. are using vaccines with the same composition. Australia is now coming to the end of it's flu season. The vaccine they used was only about 10% effective as it did not match the virus that was circulating. So experts are warning that there may be a severe outbreak of flu in the U.S. this season.

Also outlining some failed medical theories such as that some diseases are genetic.

Also asserting people should plan their meals in advance. Scientists believe that importance of eating breakfast may because the human body processes sugar better earlier in the day compared to at night.

Dr. Joel Wallach begins the show discussing a report that states U.S. children rank 26th in live births and survivability. Also citing a study from India that found over 95% of babies that died from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome) were being fed formulas and not breast milk. Stating that SIDS can be traced to nutritional deficiencies.

Doug Winfrey and Dr. Wallach discuss a news article concerning a study from the Harvard Medical school. The study found that old adults admitted to the hospital were more likely to survive if they were treated by a female doctor. Researchers looked a 1.5 million admissions of Medicare patients finding that 11% of patients treated by women died with 30 days of admission. While 11.5% of patients treated by men died within 30 days of admission. Estimating there could be 32,000 fewer deaths if men treated patients in the same manner as women. Other research indicates women doctors more likely to follow treatment guidelines, provide preventive care and communicate more with patients.

Contending that inflammation is caused by problems in the digestive system. Stating that people should consider doing a cleanse and then introduce foods one at a time to determine which foods are problematic.

Doug Winfrey and Ben Fuchs discuss a news article regarding a study from the American Cancer Society. The study finds that although overall colon cancer rates have been going down since the mid 1980s. However the rates among younger adults namely the Generation Xers and Millenials are on the rise. Those born in 1990 are have double the risk of colorectal cancer compared to those born in the early 1950s. As well as quadruple the risk of rectal cancer.
