The Shotspotter subscription for the service in Salinas has been renewed for another year. Salinas police officers say that because of the service, they’ve been able to take 26 guns off the streets…..and they believe that’s part of why the murder rate has gone down in Salinas. Along with that they say community involvement and pro-active police programs are also helping.
