A man who was shot in salinas yesterday evening, as he drove his car on sanborn road, near del monte avenue, died this morning. Several shots were fired at the vehicle, at 6:30 p.m. The victim, 19-year-old pedro Alonso, ended up crashing into a tree nearby, at boronda road and falcon drive. He was air-lifted to a bay area trauma center with life-threatening injuries to his torso. He underwent surgery, but was unable to recover. Police do not have any suspects in custody.
