SALINAS POLICE Officers INVESTIGATED A REPORT OF A SHOOTING VICTIM AT Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, SATURDAY AFTERNOON. OFFICERS ARRIVED AT THE HOSPITAL TO INTERVIEW THE VICTIM THEY BELIEVED TO HAVE WOUNDED AT A RECENT SHOOTING. THE VICTIM DENIED ANY INVOLVEMENT WITH INCIDENT AND ANY GANG AFFILIATION. HE TOLD POLICE HE WAS WALKING IN THE AREA OF PASEO GRANDE AND TOWT STREETS WHEN HE HEARD GUNFIRE AND REALIZED HE HAD BEEN SHOT. A NEARBY FRIEND TRANSPORTED HIM TO THE HOSPITAL WITH A NON LIFE THREATENING WOUND. ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION ABOUT THE INCIDENT IS ENCOURAGED TO CONTACT THE SALINAS POLICE DEPARTMENT.
