For 40 years now the Second Harvest Food Bank has sponsored the Christmas Project, and although its being done differently this year because of the pandemic, it is still happening. It’s designed to help bring cheer to migrant farmworkers, and usually includes a variety of agencies bringing gifts to the kids.
This year members of Second Harvest Food Bank will bring food to the frmworkers’ housing complexes, and gift cards (so that parents can purchase the gifts). Once each farmworker housing complex has the food, organizers there will arrange with the recipients to come get the food (at pre-arranged times, so that social distancing can be maintained).
