A 57-year-old salinas man who was convicted of several sex crimes has been sentenced to a state medical facility. John edgington was declared by the monterey county jury to be a “violent sexual offender,” and should be sent to a state hospital instead of prison; he will be committed to coalinga state hospital. Edginton had been convicted multiple violent crimes over the past decade.
