A settlement has been reached in a 2015 rape case that involved a former U.C.S.C. student, and a professor at the university. The suit claimed that U.C.S.C. failed to address sexual harassment and sexual violence on campus. The Chancellor, and Interim Campus Provost, issued a campus-wide statement yesterday, stating that they responded to the student’s claims as soon as she brought them forward…and that until such time as there are no more such issues on college campuses, they will continue to respond as rapidly, and carefully, as they can….while doing their best to protect students, faculty, and staff.
