SERVICES ARE SCHEDULED TO BE HELD SATURDAY FOR A MAN WHO FOUGHT FIRES FOR THE CENTRAL FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT IN SANTA CRUZ COUNTY. 61 YEAR-OLD JOHN TRIPODI LOST HIS FIGHT WITH CANCER FEBRUARY 23RD, BUT BEFORE HE DID HE WAS WELL KNOWN LOCALLY FOR ALWAYS LOOKING FOR WAYS TO HELP OTHERS. SOME OF THE WAYS HE DID THAT WERE BY NOT ONLY BEING A FIREFIGHTER, BUT A BOARD MEMBER OF the FALLEN OFFICERS FOUNDATION, AND A MEMBER OF THE FIREFIGHTERS CANCER SUPPORT NETWORK. TRIPODI IS SURVIVED BY HIS WIFE, 2 CHILDREN, AND 3 SIBLINGS.
A PROCESSION OF FIRE ENGINES IS EXPECTED TO TRAVEL FROM 17TH AVENUE, DOWN EAST CLIFF DRIVE (AND CLIFF DRIVE), TO PARK AVENUE….ON THEIR WAY TO TWIN LAKES CHURCH IN APTOS SATURDAY MORNING. THE MEMORIAL SERVICE AT TWIN LAKES CHURCH IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN AT 11 A.M., AND BE FOLLOWED BY A RECEPTION AT THE SANTA CRUZ ELKS LODGE A 150 JEWELL STREET IN SANTA CRUZ.
