September 6, 2015: Fish & Game Wardens Injured in Boat Explosion

(15:40) SANTA CRUZ- An explosion injured two California Fish and Game wardens near Santa Cruz Saturday morning. Authorities say that shortly after 9 a.m. the wardens were preparing to board a vessel off of Four Mile Beach when an unknown object exploded throwing the officers into the water and started a fire on their boat. Crew members of the boat about to be inspected pulled the victims to safety before being transferred to a Coast Guard vessel. The wardens were taken to the Santa Cruz harbor and transported to medical facilities with unspecified injuries. The cause of the explosion is under investigation.
