(16:45) SCOTTS VALLEY- A woman was trapped in her for seven hours following a solo car crash on Highway 17 Saturday night. Authorities say at about midnight the Toyota Rav4 left the southbound lane at a high rate of speed south of Mount Hermon Road. The vehicle came to rest in a deep ravine with the victim’s leg impaled by a tree. The victim was able to contact dispatch six hours after the accident but was unable provde her location. First responders located the crash site and the driver transported to the hospital for treatment. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
