September 20, 2015: Monterey Co. Fires

(18:55) CARMEL VALLEY- Cal Fire crews are battling two fires in Monterey County. Officials say the first fire started in the Tassajara area of Carmel Valley at about 3 p.m. Saturday. The second wildfire broke out 30 minutes later near Highway 68 and Laureles Grade. Several other small blazes were also reported in the area, causing speculation the fires may have been started by a vehicle dragging a chain. At this time the Tassajara blaze has burned 1200 acres and is 10 percent contained. Mandatory evacuations are in affect. The Laureles fire is 85 percent contained with about 95 acres burned.
