3 PEOPLE WERE ABLE TO EXTRACT THEMSELVES FROM HIGH SURF YESTERDAY AFTERNOON. A 44 YEAR-OLD MAN AND HIS 2 SONS (AGES 12 AND 15), WHO HAD JUST MOVED TO THE MONTEREY BAY AREA FROM OREGON, WERE IN THE OCEAN WATERS OFF OF MARINA WHEN A BIG WAVE DRAGGED THEM OUT TO DEEP WATER JUST BEFORE 4 P.M. THE FATHER WAS ABLE TO PULL 1 SON TO SAFETY, WHILE THE OTHER GOT HIMSELF OUT. NONE NEEDED MEDICAL ATTENTION.
