The Santa Cruz Port Commission this week welcomed the start of a new construction project that will shore up a failing harbor seawall and clears the way for the return of an iconic restaurant.
The project replaces about 100 feet of the Santa Cruz Small Craft Harbor’s western seawall, with a new sheet pile wall built in front of the old. Later the project leads to the reopening on Aldo’s Harbor Restaurant, which has been closed for three years.
The project will take several years to complete.
