Seaside man sentenced for embezzling 072718 0721 CM

A 69-year-old Seaside man who owned a payroll company was sentenced to five years in prison for embezzling $6.9 million in client funds. John McEwan pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud. His company had access to the bank accounts of his customers to distribute wages and prepare employee withholdings. When the company ran at a loss, McEwan used funds from one client’s account to pay employees of another client.
