Construction delays are slowing down the opening of a new homeless shelter in Seaside. Although officials initially thought it would be open in November (in time to house people during the holidays), it now looks as though the 4500 square foot Casa De Noche Buena shelter won’t open until January. Once open, it is expected that the shelter will provide not only short-term accommodations, but case management, housing navigation, public benefits enrollment assistance, links to medical, mental health and substance abuse services, as well as referrals to other community support.
