Scott’s Valley disc drive and storage maker, Seagate Technology says it’s looking into “going private”. Company officials said this week that they’re in discussions with an un-named party that is showing an interest regarding a “going private” transaction and possibly other strategic alternatives. The company, which stressed that there is no guarantee that it will receive a formal offer or complete a deal, has meanwhile retained financial and legal counsel regarding the possible transaction.
