A PLAN TO REMOVE ROWS OF EUCALYPTUS TREES ALONG A STRETCH OF HIGHWAY 101 BETWEEN GREENFIELD AND KING CITY WILL BE UP FOR DISCUSSION NEXT WEEK. CALTRANS IS EXPECTED TO HOLD A PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING ABOUT THE TREE REMOVAL PLAN IN THE TWO COMMUNITIES. THE KING CITY MEETING IS SLATED FROM 5 TO 7 P.M. ON SPETEMBER 4TH AT CHALONE PEAKS MIDDLE SCHOOL, WHILE THE GREENFIELD MEETING HAS BEEN SET FOR SEPTEMBER 5TH ALSO FROM 5 TO 7 P.M., AT MARY CHAPA LITERACY AND TECHNOLOGYACADEMY. THE MEETINGS WILL GO OVER PROJECT ALTERNATIVES, TECHNICAL ISSUES, THE HEALTH OF THE TREES, AND AN UPCOMING DRAFT ENVIRONMENTAL REPORT.
