There will be a beach clean-up taking place today on Seabright Beach in Santa Cruz. Check-in starts at 10:30 a.m. and people are encouraged to register on-line through the Santa Cruz Museum Of Natural History (which is providing the clean-up materials). All such clean-up events are being limited to 15 participants, and registration is requested due to the continuing pandemic. Although walk-ups are welcome, every participant must sign a State Park waiver at check-in (which will be at the entrance gate to Seabright Beach). Those participants 18 years-old and younger must be accompanied by an adult.
Trash bags, grabbers, and disposable gloves will be provided for those who register.
Volunteers are encouraged to wear closed-toed shoes, dress in layers, wear sun protection, and bring a filled reusable water bottle.
Due to the continuing Covid-19 pandemic, people are asked to wear a mask and gloves at all times while participating in this clean-up, maintain at least 6 feet of distance from others when possible, and not pick up discarded masks and gloves (unless using a grabber and putting the discarded material into a separate bag).
Participants are asked to return clean-up materials by 1:30 this afternoon.
