This week is Sea Otter Awareness Week. Sea otters
are not only cute little furry animals, they are a
Keystone Species for the local ecosystem. Sea
Otters keep populations of urchins, clams, and
mussels remain reasonable….while promoting a healthy
Kelp forest. Sea Otter Awareness Week was first
held here 15 years ago, and is always the final week
of September.
