For “Food Insecure” children, summer vacation can be a tough time of year to find access to food. In Santa Cruz county there are 25 locations where those (who are 18 years of age or younger) can get meals. Those meals are served at places such as community centers, summer schools, and playgrounds. For locations closest to them, people are encouraged to text the words “food” or “comida” to 877-877, or they can call 2-1-1.
