The santa cruz county board of supervisors has scheduled a vote to consider banning bullfrogs from being brought into the county. supervisors approved the motion to consider in February, banning the sale, import, and possession of bullfrogs. Supervisors also urged state officials to pass a statewide ban on the amphibians, which prey other frogs and spread disease to native species, such as the California red-legged frog.
