SC Thieves Stop Cross-Country Cyclist 05-03019 03: 35 DC

A cross-country bicycle journey came to at least a temporary end Monday, after cyclist Larry Ring’s custom made, titanium bike was stolen from outside Santa Cruz Diner.

Not only the bike but also all of Ring’s belongings were also taken by the thief. Local cyclists say Ring isn’t the first to be targeted for bicycle theft. They say bikes are commonly stolen in the community.

Ring has been on the road for 10 months, the 65-year-old retiree says he looks forward to getting a new bike and getting back on the road.

GoFundMe has been was started for Ring. He says that he hopes the money raised will allow him to buy a new bike.
