A Santa Cruz big-wave surfer was arrested, among 10 others, during several drug raids this week. Officers seized over an ounce of near-pure methamphetamine during the first raid of the surfer’s home on the 1400 block of Laurel Street. 46-year old Anthony Ruffo was arrested for possessing meth for sale, along with 27-year old Christina Scroggins, who tried destroying evidence. A 2nd raid was conducted yesterday morning at a Lee Street house where officers arrested 8 people and seized drugs and 2 guns. Both Ruffo and Scroggins were booked into Santa Cruz County jail and were released later that day.
