Santa Cruz County supervisors this week unanimously approved a 33-unit mixed-use development on Portola Drive between 40th and 38th avenues. The project is the first approved under the county’s new enhanced density bonus law.
Enhancing density encourages neighborhood walkability, reduces urban sprawl, and protects water resources. Four of the units are designated as affordable housing.
