Santa Cruz County Supervisors are set to meet today(tues) to discuss plans to expand ucsc’s student population over the next decade, and along with it, increase the university’s water consumption. A group called the Community Water Coalition filed a lawsuit last month, seeking to invalidate an agreement made between the university and the City of Santa Cruz. A hearing on that suit is scheduled for june 29th. The board is also set to discuss budget issues today (and for the rest of the week), as well as consider a plan to establish a tourism marketing district in the county, which would promote tourism in the area.
