Santa Cruz County Sheriff Jim Hart Praised a Ben Lomond man during a Monday afternoon press conference. The sheriff recounted murder suspect Steven Carrillo’s actions after fatally shooting one deputy and wounding two other officers. The suspect was then disarmed and detained by a Ben Lomond resident after he first gave the suspect his car keys. Several other good Samaritans helped to detain the suspect until he could be taken into custody.
